he wanted all black people to reject their last name becuase there last names were given to them by white plantation owners when they were slaves. that way it was a kind of disconnection. this site has more info

Near the end of his life before he was assassinated by black Muslims Malcolm X renounced his racism. I don't know where you got Obama changing his name but it never happened. Are you so afraid of discussing the issues that you are desperate to come up with the ridiculous lies and smears. Lets talk about the budget, the infrastructure and the war.
