How does Google ranlk each source? you know, after you enter something in the search engine, and press enter, how do they decide which results go first?

The results are ranked by the number of people that choose that one source. in other words they are chosen by their popularity. The ones on the far right are sponsored ads, like ebay and amazon.

They don't reveal the details of their algorithm, but its based on the content, how long the site has been on line, the number of sites that link to it, and the reputation of those sites within Google (which is based on what sites link to them, and their content).
