it is a good trade in some ways, and bad in others
first of all it helps morale a bit. there has been a vick vs. schaub division in the falcons orginization for a long time, the only way to unite those 2 group within the orginization is to trade away schaub or vick, don't always have vick have to look over his shoulder, because we already know that that does not work with this guy, he does not work well under pressure.

for the texans...they need a new QB in a way. i don't think it is David Carr's fault, but maybe they need a new kind of QB that could work well in Kubiak's system. remember Kubiak is under alot of presure because he did not draft reggie bush or vince young, so maybe this trade will better his image, but not really fix it.

but the terms of the trade is somthing i really don't agree with. trading 1st round picks and giving up two second round pick for a backup? i know kubiak is somewhat desperate, but i think he gave up too much. i actually like Schaub, but i don't think he's worth that much, he hasn't shown to be worth that much.
the falcons i think are happy, they are most likely to get a safety, becaue they don't want another 1st rounder WR bust unless they could get Calvin Johnson, which is unlikely, but they do seal the possiblilty of getting a good safety to replace the aging Lawyer Milloy with a Landry

Great deal for the Falcons who basically raped the Texans out of several excellent draft picks. Schaub is unlikely to be an upgrade over Carr and hasn't shown much so far except a knack for throwing long ball interceptions. I'm not sure what the Texans are thinking, but good luck to them.

Yes, Atlanta gained two seconds for Schaub, and moved up in the draft. Now, they could package those two seconds and the first and move up. This would allow them to get Calvin Johnson, the playmaking wide out they have been lacking. Also, Im pretty sure that atlanta will take a qb with their 3rd round pick..maybe trent edwards(guy from stanford)

Good trade for the Falcons.

Next year schaub will be a free agent and will be useless. At least they got the draft picks instead of nothing if they weren't even going to use him this year. Bobby Petrino has already made it obvious that Vick is his guy.

Heh...Houston got screwed, but they got a good QB out of the deal, that's for sure, and they still have a 1st round pick. No 2nd rounds now though, those are still valuable picks. Atlanta got the better deal out of it, but Vick ain't taking that team to a championship any time soon....oh well...

that is a 79.6% steal for the Falcons. Yes it was a good deal for the Falcons and yes they would've gotten more out of trading vick instead and i think that they would've gotten rid of vick. but yes, they got a good deal. the other team got ripped off.

Only if Atlanta gets a good QB with the pick

Just shows you how dumb the TEXANS are!!! did they think they upgraded at QB? they actually down graded because he only threw 180 passes in his whole NFL career!!!! Andre Johnson is screwed!!!!!!

It's good for Houston. When Vick gets his annual injury the Falcon's will see how wrong this trade was for them!
