2(n+1)/7 > n+4/5
this is like a proportion!
simplify every thing and you have
2n+2/7 > n+4/5
so cross multiply and you get
10n+10>7n+18
subtract 7n from both sides
3n>18
then divide both sides by 3
n>6

2(n+1)/7 > (n+4)/5
Cross multiply.
5*2(n+1) > 7*(n+4)
10(n+1) > 7(n+4)
10n + 10 > 7n + 28
10n-7n > 28-10
3n > 18
n > 6

2(n+1)/7 > n+4/5

what you do first, is to distribute the 2. so:

(2n + 2)/7 > n + 4/5

multiply both sides by 7 so that the fraction in the left dissapears. so:

2n + 2 > 7n + 28/5

to isolate n, subtract 2n to both sides, then subtract 28/5 to both sides. so:

2 - 28/5 > 5n (to add the things on the left, make them like terms so:)

10/5 - 28/5 > 5n

which is:

-18/5 > 5n (then, multiply 1/5 to both sides to get rid of the 5n)

-18/25 > n
