Why do they think they deserve special rights because they're a minority group? It's not like midgets or people with their hair dyed green have rallys demanding special laws to benefit them. Why do homosexuals feel they're so special?

The same marriage laws apply to all people, so as far as I can tell, they're not being discriminated against. Do they just like to bi1ch? Or do they really think they're so special that we should go ahead and change our laws to accomidate they're preverse lifestyle?

I'd like to thank everyone for their responses. I know the wording I use makes me sound a little bigoted, but I really couldn't care less what anyone does in the bedroom. There is probably gay sex happening somewhere in my neighborhood right now, and guess what? It isn't affecting my life in the slightest bit, so have at it. I was really just looking for some emotional, yet intelligent responses from the homosexual community about the same-sex marriage/gay rights debate. Some of you guys gave good responses, but to be honest, usually the angriest and most hateful responses come from the gay side, what's up with that? But you silly homos usually have the more convincing and compelling points too. For all of you out there fighting the good fight, I say "fight on".

We are not special and we do not yet have equal rights. Please check your facts. Thanks.
Please do not insult us and raise your voice. Loud, obnoxious ranting does not educate anyone. Thank you.

Here we go again. The right to marry a person of the same sex is a 'special' right?? On the contrary, those who voted FOR Constitutional amendments are the ones who gave themselves special rights. Who has given THESE people the right to tell a certain segment of the AMERICAN TAXPAYING population what to do and who to do it with??
It would be HYPOCRITICAL of the gay & lesbian population to enter into a heterosexual marriage?? What would be the basis for such marriage??
Perverse lifestyle?? That's such a homophobic remark and by NOT allowing gays to marry, YOU and people like you are coming into my home and telling us who we can form long-lasting relationships with so by not allowing us to marry, you DO care about what we do. After all, same sex marriage does not affect you.

How then might that's seen a "specific right" for them to have comparable intercourse marriages? At that factor you will possibly nevertheless have the comparable right rights that a gay guy might. you ought to marry a guy or a woman, comparable as them, so how might that's any diverse. shall we glance at it yet differently. shall we ban Coke and in effortless terms enable Pepsi, ban Chevy, in effortless terms enable Fords, ban Mcdonalds and in effortless terms enable BK. we would all have the comparable right rights, shall we rigidity a ford or no longer, eat Burger king or no longer, drink Pepsi or no longer. of direction if tramples on our freedoms, yet you do no longer care approximately very own determination and freedom, in effortless terms approximately us all having the comparable right rights, ultimate?

Bryan, yes, as a gay man, I have the same right as you to marry a woman. But YOU have an additional right that I DON'T have: You have a right to get married to a person who are attracted to. I DO NOT. So, maybe if you think about it this way, you might see that I do NOT have the same rights as you do. I hope that this made it clearer and that you can see the difference!

Homosexuals DON"T have the same rights as straight people. You can't get fired from a job or refused housing because you are straight. If a straight person's partner (read husband or wife) is dying in a hospital, a straight person has a right to visit them, as they are considered family. A straight couple doesn't have to pay for two separate hotel rooms. A straight couple has assumed rights of inheritance. And on and on.
So quit the stupid ignorant BS that's fed by ignorant preachers saying that gays have the same rights as straights. It's not true. When was the last time you had the crap beat out of you simply because you are straight?
There are constitutional rights protecting your freedom of religion and preventing discrimination in employment based on religion, and religion is CERTAINLY a choice, with no genetic or hormonal predisposition.
If you think that gays and straights have the same rights in society, why don't you try living as gay (you don't even have to have sex) for a while and see how it fits, and just how many rights you really have.
I'd like to see gays have the rights to not be denied employment, to serve in the military without fear of being caught, to marry who they please, to visit their loved ones in the hospital, to not have to jump through hoops to have a relationship recognized, to be able to inherit without courts going buggy, to be able to adopt, to not be beat up and killed, to not have their funerals protested, to not be demeaned by the religious reich, to not hear on a daily basis the lies and abonimable speech from Christian fanatics and on and on.
Why don't you try to tell me about all of the rights, and how gays are guaranteed fair and equal treatment under the law; show me those guarantees and then convince me that they actually exist in society. Compare then, the treatment of a homosexual to a heterosexual in society and prove your point; you can't do it because it can't be done.

You are poorly misinformed. Gay people do not have the same rights as straight people.
We cannot legally marry the person we love.
We are denied access to our loved ones when they are in the hospital.
We cannot make health decisions for them.
We cannot serve openly in the military.
We cannot adopt children in many states.
Those are just a few of the "special rights" we demand.

Hmm, last time I checked, asking for equal rights wasn't asking for anything "special," except equality.
So, thanks for supporting our fight for EQUAL rights, since in the Constitution ALL were created equal, and therefore all citizens should have access to all STATE-given rights (like marriage).
I wonder if people applied the same argument in the 1950s when black people wanted the "special" rights to get the same education as white people, or drink from the same water fountains, or marry whom they chose?
Glad to know you are on our side. Thanks!
EDIT: Evidently you missed the word CHOSE from my answer. People who are LGBT need to have the option to CHOOSE a marriage partner of the same gender, or they do not have the same marriage rights, and the state-sponsored discrimination still exists by definition.

The same rights do NOT apply to all people, and I hate when people use that argument. Yes I have the RIGHT to marry a man but I don't WANT to marry a man. I want to have the right to marry WHO I please, not who society thinks I SHOULD morally marry etc.
Nobody is demanding any special rights. We want to marry and have the SAME rights as everyone else, and we shouldn't have to compromise WHO we are to receive those rights.

What are you talking about? Homosexuals just want the same rights as heterosexual people. We want to be able to get married, adopt, serve in the military while being open about our sexuality... We want to be treated just like everyone else. We don't want to be treated differently at all.
The only "special rights" we want are the rights that have been given to everyone else in our country.

Again with the "special rights" stuff. "Midgets" (little people) DO lobby for consideration of their special needs. It's not that homosexuals feel that they are so special, it's that they don't feel they are any LESS than you are.

I hate to break it to you, but gay people DON'T have the same rights as straight people... even in liberal countries. I don't feel that I'm "so special", but I do feel that I should be treated like anyone else.
