I think it should be done by a professional. There are sometimes people in training that will do it for half the cost for the experience.

U can't pierce your own tongue. First u need 2 B able 2 pull your tongue out as far as it will go. This is almost impossible by your self. Then u need 2 see the veins to make sure u don't hit 1. that is impossible for u 2 do there are some that r 2 small to see in a mirror. Then u need 2 put a long needle through and follow it with the tongue ring and i can guaranteed u don't have the right needle for that. Truthfully I recommend that u get it done at a shop.

In all honesty dont do it urself i got 2 tongue piercings both professionally done DO NOT do it u can catch all types of Infections and maybe even loose ur sense of taste! get it done by a pro its really not tht expensive in kno in NY the highest is $50 dollars not to mention the chance of getting hypotitus (sp?) B just get it done professionally it'll save u a whole deal of trouble

If you lift up your tongue you will see a big blue vein, if that gets pierced at all you will become paralyzed. That's the only one you need to worry about, but if you get it professionally done you will be okay. Also go get your navel done professionally.
