My friend (and only my friend) asked me to our school's graduation banquet. I'm waiting for another guy to ask ME to the banquet (who I like). I want to keep the line wide open. How do I say no without hurting his feelings?

Be honest if he is your friend he will respect you for telling him the truth. Don't lead him or let him get his hopes up , this could cause your friendship . Just be honest.

All u got to say is that you are waiting to give an answer to some one else, and that if possible, you will let them know in due time ,, tell the truth. But don't wait to long because you don't know if the one you want will ask you.

Oh No, this takes creative fibbing. I admit that I would tell him you were planning on going with your boyfriend (like he was already your bf) if your bf hurries up and asks you. Then this poor rejected guy might be humble enough to wait and see what your bf does and actually be Waiting for you.
If he waits for you, look him over again. He is well worth your time and will get better looking with age. Good luck.

Can I ask, do you know for a fact that this other guy is going to ask you?? ... just asking cause if he ends up not asking you and your friend has picked another person to go with because you said no, then your left with no one and hurt your friend in the meantime by saying no

Hey a good way you can say no nicely is that you can say "Sorry I don't want to go with you to the banquet."then write him a letter to his ouse and say how sorry you are for not going with him that will make him feel better.

It kind of sounds like you want to keep him on a string just in case the other guy doesn't ask you. Check your motives if you don't want to tell him the truth.

I would like to tell you to not say no. What if you say no to this friend, and this other guy doesn't ask you. Then you don't have a guy to go with. I think that you should go with your friend, besides, if you are graduating, you don't havemuch time to be with this other guy anyway.

Just say that he asked to late and if he would of asked earlier you would have said yes, but that you already were asked by someone else.

Tell him you cant decide at the moment but when you know you shall tell him.Say at the same time you understand he can ask someone else and its no problem for you.
