My poor little girl has a yeast infection, I took her to the doctor on Monday for it and they gave me a prescription for Nystatin, twice daily. They told me to apply a diaper rash cream for the rest of the diaper changes. So it's been two days and it's worse than it was before, it's now oozing clear pus and she screams bloody murder when I have to change her. The doctor said to give it another day or two...is there ANYthing else I can do for her? It's killing me to see her in pain!

My daughter had the same thing when she was about 10 months old. DONT USE WIPES ON HER! That is probably whats making her scream, the wipes have alcohol in them so they burn. Instead wipe her with a damp cloth and/or rise her bottom in the bathtub (thats what I did, because she didnt like the damp cloth). Let her crawl around or lie naked for awhile, letting the air get to it will really help alot. Yogurt is good, but dont give her anything else or put anything else on her. Giving your baby weird vitamins not perscribed or recommended by your doctor usually does more harm than good. AND DEFINETLY dont put anything else on her with the Nystatin, not only could it make her worse, but it could also react with the Nystatin and give her a chemical burn.

I wish you the best of luck. My daughter spent those 3 days pretty much diaper-less. That might be your best bet.

My doctor told me that letting the diaper area air out for approx 15 minutes twice a day will help. Hope she feels better soon. I have an 11 month old little girl, so I know how you are feeling.

Go the the store and buy plain yogurt with those live things found in yogurt that is good for you. Put it right on her little coochie. I swear it works it even works for adults. It's easiest to put it there while she is sleeping and leave the diaper just underneath her but not on. Do it a couple times a day.

Let her air out. If she is old enough to have solids, give her some plain yogurt to eat. That will help with the infection.

Remember not to use baby wipes, and let the air get to her as much as possble. Let her lie on a towel with out her nappy on and give it time.
But you might want to try baby ibuprofen to help with the inflammation.
