i sayed the Chicago Cubs, becuase they really improved their team this season with the signing of Alfonso Soriano and re-siging of Aramis Ramirez. That really imporve their power on that team including Derrek Lee coming off the DL looking for some revenge on people who didn't draft him 10 rounds or below. Also, Mark Derosa and Matt Murton imporving numbers in 06 season is going to help their line-up. Pitching is above average adding some pitchers that had a great 06 season Lilly and Marquis. plus the signing of new manager Lou Piniella it is going to be a great season for the cubs.
Go Dodgers!!!!

The NL Central will be wide open this year. Anyone that says the WS Champion Cardinals are a sure thing, certainly didn't watch the regular season last year. The Cardinals needed to make some moves in the offseason. They didn't. They only won 84 (?) games last year, and are a year older with less pitching.

The Astros lost Pettite and are no lock to get Clemens back.

I hate to put the Cubs on top because of the holes that they didn't fill this year during their offseason spending. They still need a closer and a right fielder, but I think that Lou can turn them into a winner.

1. Cubs
2. Brewers
3. Cardinals
4. Astros
5. Cincinatti
6. Pittsburgh

Well, I think that the cubs will have a good season but they will only finish second and the wild card is already taken by the braves (in my own mind). Pittsburgh will have a pretty good year it is all about their pitching this season. (Bay has them covered again for HRS). So here is what I think it's gonna look like:
1. St. Louis
2. Chicago
3. Pittsburgh
4. Houston
5. Cincinatti
6. Milwaukee

St. Louis will lose to the Mets in the 1st round and go on the Mets will go on to the NLCS against the Braves and the Mets will win the NLCS and advance to the world series against the Red Sox and then the Red Sox will win the world series.

A curse on Milwaukee for bringing Bud Selig into the league--the antichrist of modern baseball, or the long lost retarded (sorry PC police; mentally challenged, or whatever the word of the week is for retarded) cousin of George W., you decide...St. Louis hasn't lost enough talent to be usurped (on paper, not yet, at least). Cubs are looking better, thanks to the best overall player in the game right now (Soriano)--now if they wouldn't waste space on pitchers with shredded arms, they might have something. Either the staff or the offense will fall apart for Houston for a significant stretch of the season (just like almost every other year), so they're not in contention. Pittsburgh is my sentimental favorite, but doesn't have near enough offense and the pitching staff is way too inexperienced. Cincinatti is always a wild card, in my opinion, since they can play like world beaters one day and like, well, my grandma's sewing club the next. Here's what I like...sorry Cubs nation...maybe a wildcard...

St. Louis
Chicago
Cincinatti
Houston
Pittsburgh
Milwaukee--may they rest in peace for the rest of my life.

Well i dont see how u think the cubs are gonna beat out the WS champs after winning only 79 games last year. Cinci and Houston ain't gonna be no push overs neither. Expect a 2nd/3rd place finish for the Cubs this year. It'll look something more like this:
1. St. Louis
2. (Chicago)
3. (Cincinnatti)
4. Houston
5. Milwaukee
6. Pittsburgh

You guys are way off:
1) Houston
2) Milwaukee
3) St. Louis
4) Chicago
5) Cincinnatti
6) Pittsburgh
Take away Zambrano, and what do you have for a pitching staff?
You guys value one player (Soriano) way too much. His defense will cost the Cubs at least 5 games.

1. Milwaukee
The Brewers have a good rotation and great young talent. This should be the year they make the playoffs
2. St Louis
Pujols is going to have to carry their offense and they lost a lot of pitchers, but they won't fall off that much
3. Chicago
I can't name a Cubs starting pitcher besides Zambrano
4. Cincinatti
Griffey Jr and Dunn are getting old so their younger talent needs to step up
5. Houston
Their whole line up isn't getting any younger but Lee will help a lot
6. Pittsburg
They just aren't very good

what? you people, half of you need to be slapped! First of all, the NL Central will once again be extremely competitive. It will be more like this though.

St. Louis
Houston
Cinci
Chicago-HOW CAN YOU PEOPLE PUT THEM IN FRONT, ALL THEIR BIG TIME PLAYERS HAVE HISTORIES OF INJURIES, THEY HAVE A GREAT PITCHING STAFF, BUT NEVER STAY HEALTHY!!!
Milwaukee
Pittsburgh
