Went to the hospital and they said im almost 2cm dialted and cervix is anterior and baby is low. But what does in position mean? Does that mean that the severe cramping im having means im in some sort of labor?? My doc appt is tomorrow so im going to talk to them because i cant take the cramping...its constant..Help!

" in position " means that the baby is head down.
I went through lots of cramping at 39 weeks, also. When I went in for my next check, I was 80% effaced. My provider told me that the cramping had been the effacing happening. She said the cramping had been "progress".
My cramps were very menstral-like, too. But they weren't contractions. Contractions are regular and start and stop.

It's your dilation and effacement happening. And the baby getting its head into position. You are in very early stages of labor. Good luck and congrats!

I am having those cramps, too. On Sunday night I was 1.5 cm dialated and 50% effaced, and they sent me home. Since then, I have been cramping a lot- but I know it's not contractions. I don't really have any advice, but I know how you feel!

thats what labor pains kinda feel like, U know I am 39 weeks too!! due tuesday :) might be false labor pains, i never can tell them apart

It means head down and yes you are in labor.
