Did the USB cable come with a software CD?

You might need the correct drivers installed before being able to install the phone.

For instance, with most Motorola phones you have to install Motorola Mobile Phone Tools in order to connect the phone to a PC. Also the software offers features like ringtone creators and setup for using the phone as a modem (with a laptop).

You need to download Nokia pcsuite, thats why it throws an error up. Goto www.nokia.com and look for the pc suite. Download it and then attach the usb cable to the phone and to your pc. If it works it will say hardware found nokia 6610i via usb. Then you can download music to your phone. Any problems email me and i'll talk you through it.
