Yes I have used castor oil before and I advise NOT to do it.. IF you are not ready to have your baby, all it will do is give you diarreah and that isn't good.

Let your body do natural if possible.

It doesn't work. All it will do is give you the runs and send you to the bathroom. And it may pass to the baby via the placenta and give the baby the runs as well and if a baby passes poo in utero it can have tragic consequences.

DO NOT induce your own labour - PLEASE, for the sake of the health of your baby and your own health give your body a chance to do things naturally.

If you go way overdue and need a little help then play it safe and let a professional midwife or doctor do the job.

If you aren't in labour yet it means your boby and your baby aren't quite ready - going into labour is a process of preparation that takes several weeks (although you won't notice it a lot of the time) and if you try and jump the gun for no reason other than the fact you are bored and uncomfortable you might create complications where none need have existed.

My husband's cousin lived next door to us when she was pregnant. I would visit her often b/c my husband worked away. She drank some castor oil b/c she was already a week past her due date and she'd heard that it would induce labor. She had to go to the hospital alright--but not for labor--she was incredibly sick for days and in a huge and horrible amount of pain. It was hard seeing her go through that agony--and it did NOT make her go into labor.

So I really wouldn't advise it. She still didn't have her baby for another two weeks. Wait for nature to take its course. That's always best for you and your baby.

If you utilize castor oil DO NOT drink it. First off it tastes nasty, secondly it reasons diarrhea and you don't desire that even as you're in hard work. If you're going to make use of it rub it for your stomach and canopy the subject w/ saran wrap and position a heating pad or wet wash garments over it. It nonetheless is helping to urge hard work w/ out the unhealthy facet results. I will provide you with a warning it's messy regardless that! Also, rubbing your nipples for multiplied durations of time, intercourse and strolling aid to urge contractions additionally.

I drank two bottles of castor oil when I was overdue, and I took a really long walk.It did not work. My mom said it worked for her! I think that your body needs to be at a certain stage before labor-inducing techniques will work.Mine, apparently, wasn't.

I did it with my first, but didn't take much...I delivered 3 days later. Then I read not to use it. It can make your baby pass meconium before birth and possiblt aspirate it, which is not good. That is only a possibility though, luckily it didn't happen to my son, but like I said, I didn't use very much.
