P1446 Ford /Merc EVAP System Vent Control Closed
I'm guessing that the light came on within an hour of filling the gas tank. Actually, overfilling it. If this is the case, reset the light when you are down to 7/8 of a tank and it won't reoccur unless you put more than a buck's worth in after the nozzle pressure releases. When you overfill, liquid gas flows through the vent tube towards the carbon canister. The vent control senses liquid and shuts off thinking the vehicle rolled over.

Just to let you know that 02 sensors for villagers are cheaper to buy at your local Nissan Dealer..Nissan quest is the same vehicle

i have no answer but i am impressed by the other guy. i too have a 99 merc villager and just had to replace distributor.

Are you sure that is the right code? I looked it up in my OBDII code reader and it is not listed.
