I have never worn spurs. When I ride, it's for sport, no spurs needed

I only ridden a horse a couple of times in my life and I have never used Spurs.

I used to. It won't hurt the horse, unless you intend on hurting him. You know what I mean? Like you just slightly squeeze your heels into their sides. I had to. My horse didn't take a kick for a command, lol. He was a bit stubborn. But it doesn't hurt them. And there are some that are rounded and they work just as well without the possibly of hurting the horse.

I can't, the manager of the Wal Mart that the horse is in front of gets too upset and if he sees you with spurs, he makes you leave town.
