How did swear words originate? And who made them up? And why do we call them swear words and ban people from using them? They are bad to some people and okay to others! WHat?

Originally swearing, or profanity, constituted the use of sacred words, like the name of God, in a common or vulgar fashion, such as an expletive exclamation. Other words then were added to that definition such as words dealing with sexual things, considered sacred between husband and wife, dealt with in a common or vulgar manner. Thus, anytime you use a word with serious or sacred meaning in a common or vulgar manner, it becomes profanity or swearing. When we say "damn", you are refering to salvation and stopping a person's salvation which is God's domain, not mans, thus making common that which is sacred. Bodily functions such as defecation, are not sacred but they are considered private, so to openly declare a term like that in a common manner as an exclamation is considered swearing because it is extremely uncouth to use such language in polite conversation. When words are used in their proper context, then they are not profane. When we use them as exclamations out of their proper context, then they become profane.
I hope that helps.
