This isn't my main genre, but I have read a few good ones.

Sunshine by Robin McKinley: This is a vampire/modern fantasy cross over set in a world that feels like an America where magic has entered the mainstream. The vampires play a major role, but there are also magicians, half-demons, and a police agency responsible for crimes of the supernatural very interesting and well written (something not always seen in this genre).

Already Dead by Charlie Huston: I just read this one not too long ago. Huston's vampires have a distinct pecking order and social classes. Some follow a fanatical, cult-like religions, others run in mafia like groups. The story is mostly character-driven and the narrative is engaging. I'm eager to read the sequel.

Nightwatch by Sergei Lukyanenko: The book is more of a modern fantasy divided into three subsections. The first part of the book in particular is very concerned with vampires. I personally love this dark look at the supernatural underworld of Moscow. Very stark and chilling, and the narrator is identifiable.

Dracula by Bram Stoker: Some people find Stoker's original vampire novel a bit hard to follow, as it's written entirely as diary entries, letters, and newspaper articles. It can feel choppy, but also gritty and authentic. I always loved this particular classic and it's a must read in the genre.

Agyar by Stephen Brust: Brust's vampire protagonist is very engaging and articulate. He lives with a ghost in an old abandoned house, and the story is driven by his actions and reflections. Not as good as Already Dead, but a worthy read nonetheless.

Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton: This is the first in her series. I'm not a real fan of her work, it reads more like chick lit with vampires, but I have many fans who rave about her books, especially the later ones. Because of that, I'm putting the name out there. People either love it or hate it, though.

'Salem's Lot by Stephen King: This is one of King's best books. Needless to say, it's one of his earliest novels before he was churning them out for profit. It's a very creepy look at a vampire infestation in a small Maine town. If you like it, check out his Dark Tower series, as some of the characters come back.

Soulmate, Huntress, The Awakening, The Fury, The conflict - all by utilising L.J Smith Ritual, Initiation, Legacy, Bloodlust by utilising Alex Duval those are ok ,yet of direction Twilight might make all of them look like bedtime memories indexed here are extra, yet in assessment to the 1st ones I gave those are perfect for a extra mature following: Queen of the Damned, The Vampire Lestat, Blood Canticle, Merrick, Blood and Gold- Anne Rice Anne Rice has a good volume of vampire books yet no longer all of them have romance in them, that's there besides the shown fact that that's no longer the focal factor of the story

Yes! Twilight and New Moon by Stephenie Meyer... I could not put them down! They're in the young adult section but I'm older and still loved them. Great for any age.

I also really enjoy Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.

My favorite are the Vampire Academy series followed by Bloodlines series by RIchelle Mead. Do not start with the movie. It does the books no justice.
