an "ecological Holocaust". According to the Nashville Electric Service, he uses about 20 times more in electricity in his mansion as the average household. Following Mr. Gore's analogy, wouldn't that make him the equivalent of the Nazi soldier pumping gas into the showers?

Of course he has used a false analogy to get his “point” across; he has nothing better to do. I think people are starting to wise up to the fraud and hoax being played on them. But seriously, an "ecological Holocaust" huh? I read the same thing from the Nashville Electric Service and I had to laugh. However, in response, Al Gore said that it was "green energy" and that he chose to pay the elevated prices to get it, seeing as how it's more expensive than the energy John Q. Public uses.

Interestingly enough, Mr. Gore stuck his foot in his mouth and made a great point all at once; he alleges that "green energy" is the way to go and is willing to pay extra to get it, which is fine because he is free to choose. The operative phrase in that choice is 'pay more'. Not everyone has the ability to pay as much as Gore does for this 'clean energy', which shouldn't be a shock because if they did, I'm sure they'd use it. What could be the reason why we're still using oil then? This is cold, hard economics: the price of producing oil and its by-products is still much cheaper than producing wind, solar, or hydroelectric power, en masse. What Gore and his puppet followers are ignoring is that simple fact. When they say that we "need alternative energies" this very second and that we should "invest in our future", they're embarking on screwing the public.

Who should pay for this investment in our future? Gore would say the government. Where does the government get revenue? You'd say taxes. Since government doesn't just print money, in order to get the revenue to "invest" in this, they'd have to raise taxes. Bear in mind that this tax hike is to invest in preventing a "problem" that hasn't been proven to be one (nor will it be, considering it was supposed to rain by now where I live and sure as I'm typing this, it hasn't). The lofty rhetoric of Gore is often hard to disagree with at first blush so most people take the bait hook, line and sinker. But it's important to actually think about it because after all, it is our money that will fund this nonsense, not Al Gore's. Instead of "investing" in alternative energies (which already exist but aren't economically feasible) as Gore and his hippie friends would like, perhaps we should just let the markets work and let the private sector find the cheapest way to produce the desired product. Government intervention can only make things worse. Government can't give you anything at all, period. Those advocating a central government only need to look at thriving economies such as North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela. Certainly, those countries are up-and-comers on the global economy scale..Wait a second; these countries are blocking themselves off from international trade and are going to 'nationalize' the resources. Countries like North Korea don't even have the medical resources to treat cataracts, an eye-condition which takes maybe 10 minutes to correct given the proper equipment. Cubans are still driving cars from the sixties and I'm going to wager they aren't restored '64 Corvettes either.

The point is, think about what these kinds of people are advocating when they talk about government funding these kinds of crusades. Also keep in mind that the government’s pockets are only as deep as we want them to be. The government that governs the best governs the least. Our founding fathers must be spinning in their graves watching the socialist crusade that has begun in this country. One last comment on Gore's catch phrase is the hypocrisy in it; he's closer to Nazism than any true conservative could possibly be. I advocate a free market, capitalist society whereas Mr. Gore wants the government to decide everything, which is similar to governments like North Korea and the former Soviet Union. If people want to make this a socialist nation, I implore you to check with those countries and see how it's working out. Alexander Haig, former Secretary of State under President Reagan said upon returning from the former Soviet Union, "While I was there, I didn't run into a single socialist until I got back to the United States." Those who haven’t lived under socialism have no idea what it’s really like. If socialist Americans really want socialism, go live in one of the few socialist states remaining in the world today and the sane ones and I will stay behind and prosper.

Not quite but certainly misleading of him.

I believe that there is definitely something to global warming BUT I also believe that Gore serves the same agenda as the rest of them in his call to arms over the environment.

BTW I am not Lib and I am not Dem. I look at all of this with an impartial but aware eye.

If global warming was such a threat...riddle me this: WHY DOESN'T he have Solar, wind and other alternative energy on his house and why is he still riding in vehicles that are not energy efficient? It's a crock! Most scientists say it is bull !
