I bought this Ipod of a mate, upon receipt I have installed the latest issue of Itunes from the apple website, connected the ipod and have restored it to factory settings, I then proceeded to update the nano with some songs off of my computer. After disconnecting the nano using the eject tool in itunes I am now finding that I cannot navigate the menu or turn off the Ipod... it just seems to be stuck with options to set the language.? Also I have tried rebooting doing the menu and centre button thing but this doesn't work...and just takes me back to the same menu I then reconnected the ipod to the computer but it did not recognise it... i did reset again and then it picked it up in itunes..... a bit odd I think...... can anyone help me as this is annoying me.!! please reassure me and say I haven't got a knackered Ipod, my mate was using Windows XP but I am using Vista.?

not to disparage you or anything but where have you been? its been all over the news that Apple has been advising everyone that there are issues with iTunes and Vista.

Naturally, Microsoft have gone ahead and designed an OS that is suspiciously a knock off of Tiger and they have forgotten that almots everyone uses iTunes these days!

If you are using Vista and he is using Windows XP, the two versions are more than likely not compatible.
