sleeping it away helps. big time to me actually. and then you can wake up with a head that doesnt hurt from all that hard thinking. well my thinking when i do it =p oh and sometimes when you run, it clears the fogginess in your mind a bit and you might feel a little de-stressed.

Nature as already mentioned. I've found my backyard to be a refuge for me. In times of stress, I sit there and relax. Deep breathing and noticing the smallest things helps to take my mind off what's stressing me.
When I was a city dweller, music was wonderful. Dancing to it was grand. The nature thing again--even if it was potted plants it helped.
I also watch what I'm eating. Some foods are empty calories and what I mean is that they do not nourish me. My mind and body do not function well on sugar, etc.. If I dump junk into my body then I cannot expect it or my mind to be calm and relaxed.
One last thing--humor. At times I'll watch a movie or TV program that has "no redeeming social value" but makes me laugh. The above remark about social value came about when my SO and myself were so intent on our work that we forgot to laugh and play...hence that saying reminding us there are more things to life than always being serious.

Humor/Laughing is so important, so important.
Yep, it's was worth repeating!

I will tell you about the things that Truly relax me.

1. take a hot bath (not too hot)...... put a few lavender essential oil drops in, and you will find yourself really relaxing and letting go. it is just heavenly.

2. go for a massage. If not a half hour one, book for a one hour one. It is so worth it.

3. jog/run. With every thump of your feet you will find yourself really loosening up.

4. go on a trip (to a new place, or your favorite spot) with a really good friend you can be totally yourself with.

There are various other ways too...but thought i'd just jot a few good ones down...

Head to the ocean. I always find peace sitting on the beach right before dark, saying a little prayer and breathing in the salt air and listening to the waves crash.

There is only one answer. NATURE!! Find a peaceful place, with a stream, or lake, and just sit quietly, listening to all the sounds that come only from Mother Nature. It works wonders for the mind and soul.

1.Do a small trip and have fun. Its hard not to relax from everyday life, if you travel away from it and have to copy with a enviroment you are not used to a week or two
