The small minority who commit benefit fraud give the vast majority of benefit claiments, who are honest job seekers or unable to work for whatever reason, a bad name. Also the honest benefit claiments are almost always the ones that suffer as it becomes increasingly difficult to get the benefits they are entitled to.
So yes, I would report a benefit fraudster without a second thought, as is my civic duty.

Yes they are not only cheating the government but the people who are the paymasters.
If these people do this because of the low wages that are paid today then they should join a trade union and fight for decent pay and conditions as people did in the sixties.
We are supposed to be the fourth richest country in the world so the employers can afford to pay more, spongers at the top and the bottom of British society.

Hi,
Yes I would and have done so in the past. The person concerned was claiming for 2 children who did not live with him. They lived with their mother in Holland. He got done for fraud. Afterwards he was going round making threats of violence if he found out who had "grassed him up". My hubby told him it was he who reported it but the mouthy git did nothing, he's petrified of my other half because my hubby gave him a hiding one day for making lewd and disgusting suggestions to me the idiot thought that being drunk at the time was an excuse for his behaviour.
The lazy sponging git moved away a couple of months later.
We would do it again

I agree with Millie your first answerer.
In my past I have claimed Income support and worked, that didn't mean I earnt a lot or that I was working full time and not declaring monies earned.
I actually was on a very low income, declared it to the benefits office and received financial support from them.
So working and claiming is not necessarily benefit fraud.
If you know for sure the person is claiming and working full time and earning in excess of £100pw chances are they are committing benefit fraud and you might want to report them.

There are many elderly and disabled, who draw Social Security benifits and some can earn up to $800.00 a month more or less, along with drawing SS benifits. Chances are the Social Security Administration knows they are working.

YES
because people who do that are the reason why you get charged more tax
its your/our money they are stealing from government
its also all the costs involved in chasing them for the money which can run into thousands and this money could be better spent going to those who really need it.
remember all government money comes from the people and these scumbags are ripping us hard working people off not the government its our money!

it would depend on how much extra they were making
i do know of someone who has reported someone twice and gave them a fare few details yet they are still defrauding the state and this has been going on a number of years. there has also been other people who have reported the same couple over a period of time and i know this is true

I would report them in a heartbeat. Speaking as a person who has had to apply for this kind of assistance and been through all the hassles that are in place because of people such as this who are living off the government who are perfectly able to work a normal job.
It really makes me mad when I see these kinds of people who are scamming the government and laughing about it. It has done nothing more than make it more difficult for people like myself who actually NEED this kind of assistance to get it.
