Not selling boats. It's more theoretical, meaning do you take the chance that flooding might eventually drive you away.

If you want to establish a business on the water then you'd better build it on high pillars ,,,, Flooding could ruin your business but so could a twenty five or fifty five foot tidal wave and there's no protection against something like that other than to migrate inland ,,,, I think it would be smart if the NYSE to relocated further inland ,,,, Some where west of the mountains ,,,, there is another threat besides tidal waves threatening NY too ,,,, Ever consider earth quakes ? ,,,, There are allot of indicators that it's going to happen ,,,, NYSE and Fort Knox is the nations financial centers ,,,, they need to be relocated if for no other reason than just that ,,,, Either that or a back up should be established else where to take over should the worst happen ,,,, I also think it would be wise for the general populace to migrate in land ,,,, there's not much of a future in staying where they are east of Appellations ,,,, Our nations capitol should be re-established else where too ,,,, I know it's probably sounds far fetched but it would only take about an hour or two hours at the most if the worst case scenario were to happen ,,,, Few people ,,,, including our leaders ,,,, have that much foresight though and aren't willing to spend the time and money to do what's necessary even if they did recognize an impending disaster ,,,, The dollar interferes with their eyesight or should I say foresight too much ,,,,They wait for the disaster to take place ,,,, and then do some thing maybe ,,,, New Orleans is a prime example of that ,,,, Don't kid yourself ,,,, Global warming is a definite problem ,,,, The only ones that don't want to believe it are the people at the root ,, seat and cause of the problem which is the corporate/political sectors ,,,, Our elected officials aren't the leaders of our country ,,,, They are bought and owned by big business ,,,, The corporate sector has most of them in their pockets ,,,, The corporate sectors are the true leaders of this country because the politicians won't make a decision with out thinking just how lucrative the right decision is going to be for them ,,,, To hell with what's right for the people and the invironment ,,,, They want that money in their pocket ,,,, This isn't just a national problem anymore ,,,, It's global and until the people of this planet decide that they've had enough it's going to get worse ,,,, There are other and more abundant and efficient sources of energy that's inviromentally friendly than the costly forms that the corporate sectors are forcing on us ,,,, And the cost of these other sources of energy is next to nothing ,,,, Not good for the corporate sectors at all because they can't put a pad lock on them ,,,, Think about it ,,,,

Mr. jdkilp needs to research more before he says anymore ,,,, He suggests that unless you are concerned about leaving your business to your children then you shouldn't worry about it ,,,, But the future and the future of our child is the very reason why we should be concerned ,,,, and concerned now not later ,,,, What we do or don't do with this problem RIGHT NOW will determine if our children even have a future ,,,, Now's the time to close the barn door before the horse gets out so to speak ,,,, Not after he's gone ,,,, Yoda told you this ,,,,

First of all I assume you want to start a business that has something to do with the beach. If not why would you want to pay the $$ to locate there if you could just as easily (and more cheaply) be further inland? Second, this rising of the ocean levels will be a slow process, at least compared to the normal erosion caused by sea tides and hurricanes. Those 2 things present a clearer and more immediate danger.

Even if global warming is coming (and, we're not really certain), it will be decades before it affects sea levels. In other words, unless you intend to create a business to pass along to your grandchildren, don't worry about it.
