I asked why people wear pricey clothes like Abercrombie, AE, or Hollister. Is it acceptable to insult in questions?

That's not insulting it's perfectly ok to ask that. People who know they spend too much on clothes might have had their conscience pricked by a question like that though and if you got a negative response that's probably why.

Hear hear, there are some REALLY rude yahooers out there and it's horrifying they're allowed to still respond to questions....i say ban the whole lot of rude people who can't afford decent clothes (and the rest of the rude ones too)

No, it is disrespectful and mean. Just because you are a little bit envious (c'mon admit it) that other people can wear whatever they want and all, you don't have to be mean to them. I wear clothes like that (and stuff more expensive) and it doesn't make a difference to me. I sometimes think Why do people wear cheap clothes like kohls, target, and marshalls, or whatever. I just don't get why. Most people can afford stuff better. Just try to be nice...i know people think that about people who buy clothes like this..(they really aren't that expensive)

Same thing happened to me. I asked a simple question-I was working on a paper for a college class-whew, I got nasty responses. I withdrew the question.
