I am having a hard time deciding on a name for my baby. Her dad wants Shelby but I like Megan and her Middle name is already chosen. Should I just give her 2 middle names? It would be Megan Shelby Kristin then. And if I did her dad will call her Shelby and I'd call her Megan. Would that confuse her?

All of my kids have 2 middle names the 2nd middle name is always something family oriented like my maiden name for the 1st, husbands grandparents last name for 2nd, my Grandmothers 1st name for the 3rd, and sister's middle name for 4th. It's a nice way to add tradition. You should both call the child the same thing at first so she doesn't get confused, but as she gets older it'll be fine.
It's not confusing having 2 middle names except when filling out school paperwork and the ask for the middle name and give you a tiny blank for both names.

Hello, I'm here to give the best advice!
In my opinion, having 2 middle name's is wonderful. Unless, if you don't like the idea you should make a compound name. ( First name, Shelby-Kristen last name.) Or here are some examples: Anne-Marie, Mary-Kate Megan-Kristen or Megan Shelby) Or you can just have both names and call her something simliar to Megan_Shelby. Once, I have a child I'm gonna name her Shelby. Also, if you are interested here are the defenitions of the names.
Megan- A loyal child, respectful, generous, but may be a little crazy when a teen)
Shelby- A child cared for, and loved. A+ Student and a child from god, thanking you for believing in him.
Hope this helps!!!!

nothing wrong with 2 middle names, and if you both agree on Kristin, make that her first name and Megan Shelby the middle names.

I do have to say that might be a little confusing. I think that two middle names are fine, but it usually sounds better if one is shorter than the others...that is quite the mouthful. Are you planning on having more kids? You could always compromise and the next one could have the name you don't choose. Ultimately, it is your choice. Your child could have 10 middle names as long as it's what makes you happy!

When I was pregnant with my son I couldn't decide on a name (out of 2) and then at the last minute my girlfriend came up another name that I really liked. So when I gave birth I was on a natural high and gave him all 3 names......... I have 4 names myself and really regret doing that to my son as well.

So what I'm getting at is I would try to settle on a name.

Good luck!!!

Yes it would confuse her! If you want to give her two middle names, that is up to y'all. But only one first name and stick to it. Or, since y'all apparently agree on Kristin, call her that. Don't confuse the poor child by having mommy call her one thing and daddy call her something else. Best of luck.

I think 2 middle names is fine but calling the kid by different names is going to confuse the crap out of her.

BTW I think Megan Kirsten is cute.

Well I think it is great, I am trying to talk my friend who has settled on Katherine Anna to go with Katherine Anna Rose...so I think its a great idea.
It might confuse her until she is older and you can explain to her that NO she is not two different children or anything, however it would not be best to call her two different names like that, they are going to do Katie, Kat, and Kit! That is a big difference.

best wishes if you want more ideas see the pregnancy section on our message center

Flip a coin. You could always save the other name for your second daughter. Two middle names are OK but cumbersome and definitely so when she marries.
