while Bush II left place of work after 8 years we had a deficit of 8-9 TRILLION funds. whether the projection is that via the time Obama finishes his first term, we'd have a deficit around 20 TRILLION funds. So are you going to call the 11-12 TRILLION that Obama provides to the deficit in 4 years the fault of Bush? Or are you going to admit Washington DC is uncontrolled in spite of who's in place of work and we'd desire to stomp down on all of them?

I don' think we can answer that and perhaps it is a waste of time to attempt it. We are in Iraq now because Jimmy Carter was so weak when it could have made a difference. That one small act of cowardice on his part is still rippling through the world. It may take years to see the effects...good or bad... from the presidency of George W Bush.
Presidents always have an impact on the world. Some good...some bad. The enormous rise in oral sex can be attributed to a recent president's actions. I am sure no one saw that coming at first.

I think you're question should read "How many decades will the legacy of the William J. Clinton administration haunt us for?"

The only way we will be "haunted" will be if the Democrats gain total power in '08. Then we will be paying for THAT for years. The "cut and run" policies of the current Democratic leadership should come back to haunt us in about... 3 years tops. That's when we will see more conflicts and attacks on our shores, because the terrorists will then know that we don't have the stomach for conflict so they can do whatever they please.

Heres a little paper I wrote earlier. I am still working on the sources and there are probably warped facts that need touched up on since I used no notes to write it and only what I have stored somewhere at the top of my head.
In the 60's debate, protest, and disbelief of our leaders ruled the streets as a public outcry against the Vietnam War. Many reasons erupted from the mouths of protest, and one I would like to point out is the belief that it is wrong for the US to be involved in another countries Civil Wars.
The protests swayed our nation in the belief that the republic rule was no longer fit and we must sway our standards into a more democratic, all around voting for everything nation. Before the US pulled out of Vietnam there were many promises spewing from the liberal and democratic candidate’s mouths. Words of peace and relaxation. There were promises of better health care services, welfare increases, and a brighter future for all the children.
Shortly after this wave of liberalism and promises many of the liberals who held a promise in the 60's swayed to the idea of empowering the working class which in turn spewed the genius out of liberalism and created a party called the neoconservatives (neocon). The neocons are simply said created out of the failed politics of the 60's. The promise that our nation is capable of handling threats, national security, business empowerment, health services, e.t.c. as a whole. It is real hard to run a nation of people who think that dropping acid, being unemployed, homeless and holding a sign is a way to get out the word that the nation wants something greater.
What I believe the idea behind neo-conservatism is; was to empower the working force by making sure that there are plenty of benefits as well as making sure that our economy keeps its weight so we don't lose the large corporations who are handing out thousands of jobs to Americans of every race, which is also why I believe the neocons 100% supported racial equality.
I often hear that one problem with neo-conservatism is the fact that they make large corporations richer, and weaken the possibility of small business. Yes this is very true, but what we also have to remember is that these large corporations are employing as well, and with that they are making more money which gives them the ability to hire more employees. The fact that we all must face here is that we are going to have 1000X more people in the working class then we are going to have in the business class. For Christ sakes we hand feed and force our nation education, but yet we are still somewhere above 70% illiterate.
So they decide to give the working class benefits, but then the bleeding heart liberal comes with a screaming outcry. The welfare system is totally devastating our nation and we only blame the Iraq war for our trillions of debt. We have parents who get pregnant just so they can collect more cash assistance, we have women selling their children on the street for a small chunk of an income tax claim, and we have an outcry for more affordable healthcare but at the same time making our doctors pay $100,000.00+ in malpractice insurance. Now let’s take a break here to wonder why healthcare is not free.
Is this the future of our nation? We have Hillary Clinton screaming at the Oval Office saying that she needs to cease large corporation profits, and we have these damn malpractice lawsuits, they are crying about global warming, but then crying because they can't afford gas so they can drive around and produce more toxins.
It's almost as if people think that those who earn their class should give it up because it's not fair to the rest of us. The doctors should keep up with the surgeries, but do it for dirt cheap at a cost that someone may have their doctor degree for breakfast because of a screw up that happens in less than 1% of any type of doctor visits, and an outstanding debt that they will never be able to pay on because they lost their job and wasn't able to afford malpractice insurance.
So let’s move on to today. We yet again have protest in the streets. People don't understand that war is hell, and people are going to die. Yes though, I do think that there was something more important we could have accomplished other than tearing Saddam out of power, but how many times has he neglected peace treaties handed out by the UN? The protests March in Washington filled with liberals of bleeding hearts who just want our soldiers to come home alive without being slaughtered, but also at the same time they are screaming at veterans from many different wars about how they were wrong to serve their country. People had spray-paint, chalk, paint and many other items ceased from them by police because they were damaging veteran monuments. So is this the heart they have for those who are fighting in Iraq?
It's another Vietnam, and many people will say this. We're just waking up another generation that will wonder what the **** they were doing, and why they are where they are today. The present day "Liberals" and democrats are most likely going to sway into a whole other political category because of the failed politics we'll see in the future, and that we've seen in the past.
I say that it's simply the fear of war. It's confusing and violent for all of us. It's just that we here in the US, and those in Iraq and Afghanistan are on total different front lines. We feel safer when we see the war through CNN's eyes, and when we think we're winning a war with protest.... Maybe we should send them to Iraq to protest. Then maybe they will see who the real enemy is.
