Seriously, reptiles DON'T make the best of "pets".

Well I not big into snakes, but, my sister had a pet shop years ago. I had a 6 foot Burmese Python (Female) named Mona (Mona gonna make you gronna if she get a hold on you). She was a good snake though I have my stories to tell. Ha! You welcome to email and learn a few of the stories. She would move around the house and find a nice quite and dark place to hide. Coil up and be happy. At first when I would find her and pick her up she would Hiss as she not want to be moved. In time she learned this was the game and not Hiss at me. Really showed she was intelligent. Hard to explain.
Anywho, just wanted to share this. Many people like the Boas and they good too, but that Burmese Python..............she had personality! :-D

I have a red tail and a albino python, they are both great~
They are large though so if you want a smaller one you should consider a corn snake, i have a couple of them too~

Your first thoughts before you consider asking other people is what space are you going to have for them not just now but in the future~ Talk to you local pet store owner they could help you~

If you're a beginner on the snake business, then corn snakes are perfect. They're hardy and super friendly. I actually have three of them right now and they're really fun.

None! Reptiles should never be pets! When reptiles get hungry or irritated they will BITE you or EAT you! Don't listen to all the junk about how you handle/treat them, etc. That is just a lot of BS from those who want others to be impressed by their handling of them. Again, REPTILES ARE NOT PETS!!!

One that doesn't get so long you can't control it.

If I ever owned a snake it would probably be a Ball Python.
