I know that chinese families are limited to having two kids. What happens to the third child if they have one?

It depends on the area where they live. In some smaller towns, they can have as many children as they want. In other cities, they are only allowed ONE child, the "One Child Policy". Second children may be subject to birth spacing (3-4 years). Fines, pressures to abort a pregnancy, and even forced sterilization accompanied second or subsequent pregnancies.
It's more of a law that is punishable by fines, heavy fines.

No they dont take it away or ship it to usa for mu shu pork. The problem is that they are not allowed to be supported by the schooling system and most poor familys can not afford to educate them in private schools, so they usualy end up living a fairly poor and hard life in china. For some reason this seems to be more of a problem in south china then the north.

They raise it like the other two??? I don't think that the Chinese government takes it away, I just think they ask that families limit their ability to reproduce to just 2 children but, I doubt that they are going to do anything drastic should a family have 3 or 4 children...I don't know for sure but that is what i think.

I think the only thing that happens is that the government take away some of their monetary bonuses they were given by having fewer children.
I believe they have very generous financial incentives in place.
The fewer children, the higher the financial gain.

They take it away & the parents are arrested. But it never really gets to that point because they abort them 1st.
