I went to guitar center and was looking at some strats. I know that some strats are made in Mexico and some are made in the U.S.A. plus some are made in other countries. But i was mainly focusing on the Mexican made and American made strat. I don't really like the idea of having a guitar made somewhere other than the U.S.A b/c they tend to be worse in quality. But while i was at guitarcenter i felt an american made strat and then i played a mexican made strat. They both felt and played the same too me. The only difference was the 500 bucks more for the American made one. Is that b/c the quality is better or is it just 500 bucks more for the name?

frequently, having a guitar with distinctive areas on it devalues the guitar. A guitar is worth maximum while collectable in its unique condition. even although, a Mexican Stratocaster isn't collectable. A eastern strat, nicely... i does not say its collectable, even although that's extremely acceptable. the eastern Stratocaster necks have been nicely-known to have had extra useful craftsmanship, quite often at the back of the neck and the crowning of the frets. I even have the two eastern, American and Mexican stratocaster necks, and that i want the eastern over all of them, yet thats my determination. Your neck is a Squier neck even although. i'm not probable familiar with the artwork that they did on Squiers, yet Squier is many times the least powerful of the Fender line. IMO, the Mexican Strat could be extremely relatively worth the main in tact. yet while its a enjoying venture, take the neck that feels ideal to you.

The American standard is built slightly better with slightly better components, and slightly better wood. Is that worth the $500? I don't think so. I do agree it's crap how USA made instruments are usually x2 of what others cost. Support American workers or go with what's really good?

I now own two Japanese made Strats.

well you answered your question in there. its b/c they're made in the USA that makes them so much more expesive. also the labor in mexico is cheaper too so thats why mexican fenders are cheaper
