You have gotten some rather funny answers, here's one that's not; Sleep apnea can be deadly. It is critical to his long term well being that he see an MD and get it either ruled out or confirmed with a sleep study. Lemmmee guess, your husband is over 40 yo and 25+lbs overweight ?
There are several solutions to this problem;
The CPAP solution Constant Positive Airway Pressure . Which basically is a fighter pilot looking mask ,that he wears while sleeping . Air is fed into the mask which is under enough positive pressure to keep his airway open.
The other solution and the one I chose is the surgical solution. Basically it involves removing the tonsils and any other lose sagging tissue which would either compromise his airway or rattle around producing noise.
Getting your tonsils out as an adult is really uncomfortable experience but tolerable.
good luck

Smother him with a pillow! (just kidding!!).
As a fellow suffering wife, here's what has not worked for us:
- Anti-snoring strips. They fall off at night; they do nothing anyway.
- Herbal essence on the pillow. Doesn't work.
- Sleeping on his side - doesn't make a darned bit of difference.
What works:
Get rid of pillows altogether. He will snore less if his head is flat on the bed.
Get your husband to lose weight.
When he loses the weight, he can consider having an operation to open his nasal passages. But I understand from people who have had the op (all of whom say they have not snored since), that their doctors insisted they lose the weight first, as sometimes that's all it takes.

I have the same problem. If it sounds like he stops breathing sometimes during the night followed by a loud snore he may have sleep apnea. He should go to the doc if that's the case. My husband won't go so I use ear plugs and/or sleep sound machine.

The cpap machine works wonders. He may have a problem with him not breathing right and that is why he snores so loud. I also use ear plugs. They were kinda hard to get used to, but well worth it!! Good luck!! My poor husband snore's also.

If he wears pyjamas or a t-shirt in bed simply stitch a large button oe empty cotton reel about 6 inches down from the middle back of the garment. This will prevent him from lying on his back because it will be uncomfortable & a person is less likely to snore when sleeping on their side.

Go to the dentist and have a prescription mouth thing made (it's sort of like those things you're supposed to wear at night when you have braces. It's a hard plastic thing with metal that fits around your teeth. It really works, my step dad had one made and the only time he would snore is when he didn't wear it.

Your husband may have Sleep Apnea. Take him to his doctor and have them sign him up for a sleep study. He will spend the night in the hospital and they will hook him up to these sensors and monitor him while he sleeps. When the test is over, an analyst will look over the results and send them to his doctor. It takes about a week. If that is not the problem, they will send him to a ear, nose , and throat specialist. He may have to get his tonsils taken out or they can give him a sleep mask to put over his nose. Or you can go to the local drugstore and try SnoreStop. But Good Luck and I hope I helped you out.

Well nothing temporary comes to mind, and I don't think you permanently want to solve that problem, as it would kill him...lol
Ah, try maybe "Breathe Right" strips or that stuff you can buy in drug stores, you put it on your tounge and it's supposed to help stop snoring. If none those work see a doctor who specializes in sleep disorders and stuff.

You can get this sticker to put over his nose that will pinch his nose and stop the snoring sound. You can buy them from the chemist.
Take a look at the link below:
