Is there anyone that is being revered today as an influential psychological theorist? I'm talking about someone who has developed their theories within the past 5-10 years. What are their theories? In the next few decades, will their theories be as established as those developed by Freud, Jung, Skinner, Horney, etc?

I'm not aware of any new and improved or impressive theories or studies by any psychologist or psychiatrist. I'm disappointed in todays Mental Health Experts. The pharmecutical compaines have become such a huge buisness, relying on the stocks involved - that they've become the king drug-producers, pushing their drugs through the doctors who are ever so enthusiastic to write prescriptions to every man, woman, and child who enters their offices; that it makes things too profitable for all those involved, "Except" the patients!

There are no prominent theorists in Psychology anymore. Lots of Psychologists are experimentalists, not theorists. However, there are many experimentalists who formulate theories from their research, although I doubt they will be as influential as someone like Freud or Skinner. Psychologists are too afraid to come out with ground-breaking theories today because they want to be successful instead of memorable.
