Yes Clinton did fire those attorneys when he cam in to office in 1993 as did Bush in 2001 they have the right to fire them. The problem with present issue that several attorneys were ask by Rove and Meir's to be fired for not going after Democrats prior to the elections in 2006. Is this not unethical or is is just ok Bush and the GOP to go after these attorneys?

The big deal is precisely that: no one knows why they were fired, or at least the people who know aren't saying. Many people suspect that they were fired because they refused to prosecute cases against "enemy combatants" caught in the "war on terror."

The Attorney General is supposed to be the President's chief adviser on the Constitution.

I have been wondering why this is a big deal.

The administration before this one fired over 100 people in the same position - but that was a Democrat in office.
Perhaps it was ok for the Democrat's to fire that many.
