The best choise of mouse 4 a pet?

im going to buy a pet mouse but i dont know what type i want a mouse that can stay in a cage and likes exercise and is very cute

Are you looking specifically for a mouse, or a small pet in general?

There's not really a wide range of pet mouse "breeds" like there is with dogs or cats. Pet mice are generally called "fancy mice" and come in a wide variety of colors.

If you get a mouse, you should get MICE. They are not usually happy alone. Make sure you get at least a pair and make sure they are same sex!

Check them when you buy or adopt (you can find places near you to adopt mice through http://petfinder.com) them. Make sure their fur is clean, their face is clean, their eyes are bright, their whiskers twitching.

If you're looking for a small pet in general My personal small pet preference is rats though. They are like mice, but larger and seem to me to have more outgoing personality.

I compare mice to cats and rats to dogs in personality.

Gerbils are good pets as well, will outlive mice, and can be very friendly and entertaining, but they can also be very noisy.

I've only met 2 or 3 hamsters in my life that did not try to bite me, so I don't reccomend them at all.

If you really want mice you should get a jumping mouse. Don't worry if you get it small and raise it, it will be good. But I still think a hamster is better.

i wuoldnt get a mouse if i were you you should get a rat their just a little bigger than mice the reason id do that is because that mice bite and usally rats dont trust me i have 3 rats and none have bit me only one that i had when i was five bit me because i pulled its tail and if your local pet store has them i would get hooded rats hope this helps!!!
