OK....I have interviewed heaps of people and I am familiar with these questions. The best answer I can give you is:
Be yourself, relax and remain positive. Always smile when being introduced ~ shake the hand etc
Tell them your interests, be honest ~ like, sport, hobbies, reading, music etc..
Why they should hire you is: Because you know you would be the best person for the job, you need to reassure them that you are honest, reliable, positive and enthusiastic.
Strengths can be: positive personality, team player, passionate about ...the company's philosophy perhaps?
Weaknesses ~ Its just a way of the company analyzing how you see yourself,..a weakness can be anything eg: indecisive at times, too caring, too eager..etc,...
Salary? well, it is as you say what they have to offer you ~ await an answer there.
Be honest as to why you want the job ~ Obviously you want the money (we all do), but also you may say that you feel the work experience in this company will be valuable.
Your vision of yourself in 5 years time can be anything you want ~ wether it be to work up the ladder of the company and further your career or finish a degree at university,.. Remember they want to hear positive aspirations and dreams are all good to hear!
Don't be afraid ~ Be yourself!
Good luck! :)

Tell me about yourself is kind of a tricky question. The interviewer really doesn't want to hear about anything unless it relates to the job you are applying for. For example, you could bring up that you enjoy sports and that sports have given you a great understanding of what it means to be a part of a team. You could also bring up things like how you are goal orientated and very dependable. Just don't go on for minutes on end about how you like American Idol and who your favorite contestant is.

Why should I hire you? This is a great opportunity to sell yourself. Simply make them WANT to hire you. Tell them why you'd be a good fit for the company and the position.

What are your weaknesses is a trap question, but if you don't answer it you will be looked down upon as well. I would bring up a weakness that doen't relate to your job and then explain how you are trying to fix it.

Salary - you will need to research what people make in the position you are applying for in your area. Then when asked this question you can confidently reply "After doing some research I discovered that most people int his position make between this and that; that's where I would expect to be. Never simply give a single dollar amount such as $9.00 / hour.

Don't use money as your only motivator to apply; say you like the company and have heard good things. Say you think you'll be a good fit and that you'll enjoy the position. However, be prepared to answer further questions should the interviewer ask.

Employers want to know that you have goals; simply tell them you'd like to have achieved those goals within 5 years (such as gaining experience in the business world, completing school, etc.

Good Luck!

Why should I hire you? Because I'm dependable, responsible, and hard working.

Strengths: Working under pressure is very good, definitely say that. Other ideas are: quick learner and willing to chip in anywhere you're needed

Weaknesses: I always tell people I'm too honest

I don't think Kroger will ask you what salary you expect to receive. This question is for situations where the salary is negotiable....Kroger is going to be paying minimum wage, most likely, you won't have a say in it.

Good luck!!
