I am 14 and 160-170 pounds. I am 5'4, but I do not look fat, my legs aren't big and neither is my face or arms. It's just my stomach and I have tried everything. Not eating, to crunches, not drinking pop. But it seems if I only gain weight and that I can't loose it. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

You could try throwing up after you eat.

Omg, just kidding.

But what you can do it try to clean up your diet - eat less red meat (beef, poultry, and pork) and whole grains, they make weight gain easy. Fish and seafood is okay, but don't go overboard. Eat a salad. Some chicken in a salad is good, but eating a chicken breast drizzeled in BBQ sauce isn't a good way to weigh less. Veggies and fruits are good, and less soda is also great. If you have urges for pop, drink a flavored or unflavored sparkling water. Don't go with anything sweetened by Aspartame, because it could help with getting brain cancer. Just ask your mom to buy some selter water or perrier/san peligrino (more expensive "sparkling" water) and mix it with some non-concentrated juice. I love Izzy, it's Sparkling fruit juice, and they sell it at starbucks. Coffee is good because it decreases hunger, but if you stick with Starbucks frappuccinos, then I suggest you to get the LIGHT ones. Iced coffee passes through your system faster - in fact, from a friend from Italy, I learned that cold beverages make you have a need to urinate quicker. Mints and brushing your teeth help curve an appetite, because the mint flavoring makes all food taste almost disgusting. Running is also a good activity - wether it be on a treadmill or out on your school's track. But if you choose to go to the gym, here is a plan I suggest:

-10 minute running or elliptical work out.
-3 minute break
-30 mintue running, biking, or eliptical workout
-5 minute water break
-30 minute machine weight lifting - I suggest anything that works on your abdominal region (normally there is a picture on the machine that shows you what it exercises) and an upper body strength machine. If you find the need to use one of these, don't look for the pulling system but a pushing system. Rowing machines also help, if your gym has one.

Laxatives are a no no. If you OD, you could eventually lose the ability to use the bathroom on your own. Epsom salt may work, but if you use anything with laxative properties, I suggest bringing some reading material to the restroom - it can take a while to flush all the stuff it wants out of your system. Diet pills sometimes work, but I suggest not wasting your money. Don't trust any of those commercials, because if you look closely, it's just an alter picture. The heads are the same, but they are either attatched to a new body (fat or skinny). Lipozene may work, but I have yet to try it or hear anything of it. Hoodia can curve your appitite, but it's pretty expensive.

Go out! Dancing is a fun activity that burns calories like crazy! Look for teen nights at local clubs - hard part is most of the time, it only happens during school holidays or days off. Go with a friend, and just let your inhibitions go and dance that fat off!

Plastic surgery or gastric bypass is the last thing you'd want to do - it's expensive and you never know what could happen. Sometimes it is not safe, and you might end up gaining the weight you lost back.

I have the same problem as you, with the large stomach thing. If some of this works out for you, tell me. I haven't tried everything, but remember, you CAN get skinny.

dont EVER EVER EVER starve yourself!!!! Just eat healthy and also eat breakfast. Eating breakfast will speed up your motabolism which will help you burn off more calories during the day. Also eat healthy! Try not drinking alot of juice also because juice has alot of sugar in it and the sugar can turn into fat. Also pop has a tun of sugar in it so try and stay away from pop. Carry around a healthy snack when you go to the mall or anything like that so you dont have to go buy unhealthy foods when you are hungry. goodluck!

i think if it isn't controlable by diet and exercise it may be glandular. Have you been to the doctor?
Honestly it is a calorie thing. count your calories, try your best to eat good ones and be active enough for a long enough period of time, consistantly and burn more calories every day that you eat that day.
may take a little time but I lost 35 pounds last year doing that. also don't starve yourself. It won't benefit you the way you are hoping for. but do eat smaller meals and don't eat till you are full. always be just a little hungry. it is actually good for you.

hope I have helped in some way.

you'd have to cut off a leg! Don't really do it though! but really talk to somebody about this you are too young to be this worried about your weight. talk to a doctor parent or teacher.

and not eating makes you eat more trust me i used to have a eating dissorder.

stop picking yourself apart. people will be mean to you the least you can do is be nice to yourself! ok?

peace

I eat 3 meals a day, small portions and walk or dance for at least one hour everyday... and I take a laxative at least once a month. More often if I want to lose weight, like once every Saturday..
