I use Microsoft's Windows Onecare Live antivirus and firewall. At each reboot, it finds TrojanSpy:Win32/VBStat.D, and Win32VBStat.E, after it was supposed to be removed. i have tried Lavasoft AdAware, Microsoft's Online Safety Scanner, both in normal, and safe modes, but with no success. All attempts to get answers for microsoft support lead to a useless runaround of point and click choices, or a web page trying to get me too buy one of there other adware programs. Any help here would be greatly appreciated

There is a possibility that this is a false positive (i.e. a file is said to be malicious when in fact it is not). You should first rule out this out. Recently, Windows Live OneCare failed to be accredited by Virus Bulletin, a well established standard for antivirus software programs. Get a second opinion from Panda Online Scanner (http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/ActiveScan.htm). Panda will scan for both viruses and spyware - antivirus programs can also detect and remove Trojans. Alternatively, you can use BitDefender's Online Scanner (http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html). PC World Magazine awarded BitDefender best antivirus program for 2006.

If either scan finds any malicious files, you should remove them. As additional layer of protection, you can download a Trojan Hunter, which comes with a free 30 day trial period (http://www.anti-trojan-software-reviews.com/review-trojan-hunter.htm). Install the program and update it. Run a scan and quarantine any suspicious files. Trojan Hunter was awarded best Anti Trojan software program by Anti Trojan Software Review.
