Why? You can buy clothes that look just like them....but cheaper. The brand in those pricey clothes like that are bad. And there's no point of really wearing them if you think about it. Girls and Boys are commonly seen wearing these in Middle and High schools....why?

Because people with low self esteem need them to make themselves feel good. There is a teen culture now that is worse than ever, and kids that have the money to buy expensive clothes flaunt it by wearing brand names. If somebody wants to fit in with them, they have to wear those clothes, too. Its a rough world out there. Unfortunately, people in general will make judgements about who you are by what clothes you wear. In a perfect world, these people will wake up and realize that their money could go towards other things, like investing, charities, etc. But its not a perfect world.

I know what you mean. All those stores are overpriced. Banana Republic is an even bigger ripoff. I went to the Banana factory outlet in LA and their jeans on "sale" were still $50-$60. Screw that.

I buy clothes at Ross and they look just as good. The fit might not be perfect but it's worth it because you can buy 2 nice pairs of jeans and still have money left over instead of buying overpriced jeans at Banana or Abercrombie.

I also like Aeropostale. Their clothes look just as good as Abercrombie but at about half the cost or even less. Right now on their website, they're selling polo shirts for $9! Go get some.

Honestly, i have no clue! I used to think it was "cool" to wear that, but then i realised every article of the clothing those stores make look the same, and everyone who wears it looks the same. As long a you look super cute no one cares where you got the stuff. I really think that it is an acceptance thing though. The "popular" kids wear this stuff and people think that if they were it they will be popular too. The clothes at those stores are crappy, and rip a lot.

People shouldn't wear clothes just for the labels.

I guess cause that feel that they have to buy them to be cool, I have a few items from there, and I really never wear them. I've found that Aeropostale is a better alternative. They have about the same look with about half the price. Almost all the clothes are on sale, and the clothes last. No one can really tell the difference.

Because Hollister and A&F are Awsome-- you can't really buy the clothes anywhere else because they are all different -- it is also because of the name people like to wear name brand things -- i think it better if people stopped wearing name brands tho because they r soo expensive-- i hav several shirts from these stores but i hav had to spend way to much money to get them-- it would be much better to just buy stuff at department stores it would be cheaper easier and then everyone would fit it --

AE is the main suitable...then you certainly can get some shirts at abercrombie for 10 yet i do no longer extremely like those clothing and human beings can tell while those shirts are on sell so i would not purchase them from abercrombie and then hollister is quite like the main suitable ever!!!! some issues are on sale

It comes down to quality for me - the clothes are a better cut, so fit better, and are better made, so last longer. I have an abercrombie shirt that has lasted me for 3 years and still looks great. I have a cheaper shirt that already looks old after only a year.
Wouldnt buy everything there, but things like shirts, jeans and so on that you want to last for years.

I don't think it's stupid or that people are "trying" to fit in. Some people just like those types of clothes. If you need to scrape up a bunch of money to shop there, you probably have better things to spend your money on. I like shopping there because I can afford it and I like the clothes. Trust me...I'm not trying to be the popular girl.

i go there because other stores dont have exactly the same styles in one place, and even if they do (like macys or something) theyre not usually in one place and i have ot keep looking for a specific item. at hollister, i just find everything i like in one place. and trust me, i dont buy it fot the logo, like a lot of other people. i actually try to find stuff that you can barely notice the logo. unless its very very cute, of course. but a lot of my friends like to show off when they buy those things. so i guess my answer doesnt really go for a lot of people.

I know!!! I hate those stores! They overprice t-shirts for no reason. I guess they just like it, and well, I can't blame people for what they like, but for me, it's just not original.

Everywhere I turn I either see Abercrombie, Hollister or American Eagle... I just don't follow trends, I guess.
