i am 13 (almost 14) and i weigh 126 pounds. i feel like i'm too heavy, although i don't really look like it. the media insistes everyone be skinny. i feel like i should loose weight. am i right?

I'm 13 and I'm about 125. No, what the media thinks their snobby business. If you are tall, the weight doesn't show. So don't be conciensious of your weight, I'm not.

Nope, considering you're tall...which is a good thing if you are concerned about the media because models have to be REALLY tall...your weight sounds about right considering your height, because don't forget other things add to the number of your weight, like muscle, bone mass, and height...so the scale is inaccurate, look at what you see in the mirror. Do you think you could exercise and tone things up? Or do you think you look good?

judge by the mirror, not the scale. if you look good, and you think you look good, then you ARE good! alot of the extra weight might be muscle weight, also.

but if you do feel fat, start an excersize regimen. aim for 60 minutes a day, and even if you can't fit in that much it's good to do a little, anyway. take a ten min. walk in the morning, and dance around for 20 minutes later.... split things up

At 5'7", you are definitely not overweight. That's about the average weight for people who are as tall as you. I think if you're over 140 pounds, then you should start to worry. Also, you should not worry about your weight, it doesn't really tell you if you're in good shape or not. Try to focus on your actual size like your dress size, etc. It's not really about losing weight but more on toning down, shaping up. Pilates is a good way to shape up, makes you lean and sexy.

no ur not overweight. u probably are skinny because you are quite tall. at that age, a lot of peoples bodies are changing rapidly and yougain and lose weight erratically. its normal. btw, why listen to the media? they are the same people that said mullets and big hair were "IN" in the 80's!!

DO NOT LISTEN TO THE MEDIA WHATEVER YOU DO!!! .. you should be healthy! if you are 5'7 and 126 pounds .. thats pretty skinny already! do not worry about youre weight .. just be healthy! :)

it really does depend on your height. i would defintly not call that overweight. i'm a little older than you and i know how it feels to feel fat even when you dont look it. i wouldn't worry about it and just be happy with who you are. i think you should not loose weight. if you're really concerned talk to your doctor

Go to this website. There's a scale at the bottom where you enter your weight, height, and age. It'll tell you if your overweight, underweight, average, and at risk of being overweight!

girl my sister thought she was overweight and got on a diet.
you are over weight when you are 190 pounds.
even though you feel heavy you are not overweight.
and no you are not right nobody should get skinny because somebody tells them to!
