When I go into details about my current driver, it says its value is just a CD-ROM, It was playing DVD's before, but it just stoped. Windows media player is on the fritz too. The Lite-On website realy hasn't been much of a help. I need to know where to find a free driver download,

Might have died on you...
XP by default will assign drivers to the drive that will work...if it no longer shows the DVD drive more than likely it's stopped working...especially if you use it all the time...everything breaks after time...mine did.
