I think that by 2056 we will not have changed much, mabye more enviromental factories and cars.
Personally...this is my preferable future.
Fore more than a hundred centuries the Emperor has sat immobile on the golden throne of Earth. He is the master of mankind by the will of the gods and the master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the carrion lord of the Imperium for whom a thousand souls die every day. For whom blood is drunk and flesh eaten, human blood and human flesh; the stuff of which the Imperium is made
To be a man in such times is to be amongst untold billions. It is to live the cruelest and bloodiest regime imaginable. It is a universe where you will find little comfort and hope. Forget the power of technology, science, and humanity. Forget the promise of progress and understanding of the future. For there is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carange, slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods. Ten thousand years of battle, and still the wars rage onward.

For in the fourty-first millenium....there is only war!

Discovery channel has a mini-series called 2057 which looks into the future and highlights some of the technologies we are headed toward. Of the many things they showcased, they had a printer that prints organ tissue and could make an artificial human heart in 20hrs.

How can anyone answer this questions seriously? Do you see people from the 50s understanding the Internet? Do you see them even envisioning it? They were just getting used to B&W TVs.

So my answer is: Blank, blank, blank.

Probably the most honest one.
