I am trying to learn more about the rules of sports, namely, baseball, football, and basketball. I've searched online and not found a whole lot for people who do not already have background knowledge, and I'm not interested in buying any books. Anyone know of any good websites/tips other then just simply watching?

I know you said you don't want to buy any books, but that is really the only way to get detailed and accurate info on the rules of each individual sport,...Basketball,Football and baseball for dummies is is a small pamphlet you can buy from Barnes & Noble that will help you. You are looking for a short cut, you can never learn what you really need to know by taking the shortcut.
It would also help if you could have an appreciation o these sports.

i would have just told you all the rules but there were just to many these are the official rules of baseball, football, and basketball/'/
