The UN's resolutions against North Korea and Iran are blatantly snubbed by those countries and ignored. The UN has no enforcing power. New clips from the Middle East show people burning the UN flag. Libya is in charge of the UN's human rights comission.
At first, I thought it was only the political arm of the UN that was a sham, but then I learned that it's "humanitarian" arm is equally repugnant. I saw a report that showed that Africans who are fortunate enough to have received an education are angry because the UN pressures them to use "clean" energy, such as solar power, which is unreliable and extrememly expensive and does not supply enough power to run hospitals and other vital facilities. They need to burn oil to develop, but are denied by politicans who are oblivious to the troubles of regular people. Also, there was another report that showed that the UN is disingenuous in its reports. An expert on malaria a report that the UN gave on malaria.

However, he was ignored and his name was even put on as an author of the report.
Of course, all this comes on top of things like the "oil for food" program.
I now have zero respect for the UN, because it is a giant illusion, built on lies.

The UN is inept ad has been unable to do anything positive for the world since it started. The Hugh UN building in New York should be taken over by the City of New York and turned into a brand new high rise apartments for the upper poor and middle class. All United Nation personnel should be placed on planes and shipped home Some of them (and I can name a few) should be made to swim home.

Well unfortunately yes...The whole idea of UN is great ,but unfortunately it isn't working...The UN is just a political tool of some strong countries that use it just for their political gains...
Unfortunately Iran it's not such a good example,because it's totally right in not respecting the resolution...Iran it's not doing anything illegal because they signed the NNPT,so there was no reason for the resolution...A better example of how UN is used as a political tool would be the way US uses its veto right to save Israel...Beside this fact Israel it's totally ignoring 72 UN resolution ,since 1967...

You want to see what huge bust the UN is look no further than Bosnia. In Bosnia Danish forces were spectators at the mass extermination in srbenica. If anyone can actually name one UN operation that was a success, I would be amazed.

i also have zero respect for them.we are being fooled by the ideas of greater good.the un security council is a joke in my eyes.
now it's easier for u living in america and even u feel it's worthless,u can only imagine what it feels being on the other side in developing countries where un help is the only source u can garantee ur living with (humanly & politcally too)

Yes.
I wish we could get out of it. It costs us billions each year and is so corrupt that it hurts more than helps.
The oppression to the underdeveloped people is done more by the environmental terrorists, but the UN supports that way of thinking.

an organization is only as good as the people that run it. The concept of the UN is good, it has been poorly executed. there is a new leader, maybe that will improve the situation.
