My wedding anniversary is in early May, right before my husband goes out on deployment. We are trying to find an affordable place to celebrate our anniversary. We live in the MD, VA, DC area.

You didn't say how far you were willing to travel, but the Poconos in Pennsylvania is a great romantic place to go. It would be about a 4 hour drive for you. You could stay at the couples only Caesar's hotels that have activities for couples and then suites with private heated pools, jacuzzis, mirrors everywhere, etc.

Meka do you have kids right now or just the two of you?? If so all you have to do is just be with him, esp. if his going on deployment. The two of you needs to be alone and away from the crowd, (navy wife here), just set a place for the two of you in the house, like table for two with a rose on top of it, buy lots of candles and put it all over the room that you will use. Then make his favorite dinner, with white wine, play some soft music that will enhance the surrounding, and yes wear a sexy black dress with high heels, heels do drive man crazy, and from there the two of you can have the most romantic anniversary without interruption from other people.
If the two of you will be spending that day, baby him, have a bubble bath and the rest will be your own doing,....just have fun and enjoy the beauty of life that the two of you have together.

Perfect time go to Atlantic City. It's a few hours away by car the plenty of nightclubs and shows . I suggest that you stay at the Tropicana's new hotel the Quarters.

You may never leave the room

go to your nearest travel agent and ask for some brochures or ask them they are good at giving advice on where you should go that is your best bet or a hotel room somewhere is always nice too if you do get a room get a jucuzzi suite that's romantic very I go away with my boyfriend to a hotel and we always get a jucuzzi suite and we have a good time

Don't know how affordable it is - but Cape Hatteras is nice. I've only done a day trip there - but I think that would be close, yet fun/romantic.
