First you have to turn on pop up blocker.
If that doesn't help go to start click on control panel
then click on network and Internet connections
you should see Internet options click on that
you should have Internet properties up
now click on the privacy tab make sure pop up blocker is checked if it isn't check it ,if it is click on settings
At the bottom you should see notifications and filter level
click on the filter level and choose High do not allow any pop ups.If that doesn't work I would contact your Internet provider.

do a virus and spyware scan and get your self a good pop up blocking program or browser

The yahoo toolbar works good in stopping popups
