We hear a lot about Iraq, but what the hell are we doing in Afghanistan? And don't give me any of that 'they're hiding bin Laden' crap--apparently, he's in Pakistan now anyway, and besides, Paraguay and Argentina were 'hiding' convicted Nazi war criminals and we never attacked them.

PS Benvee, are you at all aware that the USA put the Taliban in power, thus enslaving my Afghan 'sisters', in the first place? Didn't seem to bother them for, oh, about two decades.....And BTW, the invasion has worstened things for women there.

Why we're letting the Taliban control almost 1/2 the country, of course!... and, we still consider Pakistan to be a vital ally in the war on terror, even though Musharaf's government was one of only 3 countries to acknowledge the Taliban as the government of Afghanistan!
oh, and we're NOT looking for Osama bin Laden, too, since all of our focus has been drug into the blood and destruction of Iraq!!!

Afghanistan seems to have a press Blackout at the moment. We never hear anything from there. Thought bin laden had been executed. Argentina my dad died in Falklands war. Paraguay, just deals in drugs and bent passports. Nazis are all dead now, is a different world.

Don't get so overheated Cheryl, the British and Americans are attempting to stop the Taleban from taking over again and re-building their Islamic fundamentalist nation. These are the 'fruitcakes' who want to imprison your 'sister-females' in the burkah or niquab. Is that the kind of nation you would want to tolerate. The British and Americans are the only armed forces in the Western World who appear to want to make a serious stand against this kind of tyranny. Our wonderful NATO allies in Europe don't seem to have the stomach for combat any more, They send token 'non-fighting boy scout soldiers to places like Iraq and Afghanistan and call them home again if someone fires a shot at them. Thank God for the British and Americans.

we are trying to stop the Taliban from gaining strength again and trying to stop them treating their woman worse than dogs,I think this is a fight worth taking on, the sad thing about it is we don't give the troops enough support to carry out their work there, so they have to keep recapturing ground they took the previous day. after all Bin Laden learnt his craft there, and if it make him keep his head down, then that's got to be good.

Iran is looking at the US forces in Afghanistan and at the ones in Iraq and it makes them sweat! Do they really want to PO the USA when the current president does not put up with BS from terrorists?
