I disliked One Hundred Years of Solitude, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, mainly because I couldn't relate to any of the characters. I don't know if you're familiar with the book, but it follows the history of an imaginary town in South America, called Macondo, that has no connection to the outside world, save for a band of gypsies that travels through every year. The plot is primarily about all of the ancestors of Jose Arcadio Buendia and his wife Ursula Iguaran. It was a beautifully written book, with extremely descriptive language, but I just didn't like it.

Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison
Its obviously a very well respected novel, but I just couldn't get into it. I like her other works, but for some reason this one didn't really engage me although it was written well. I told myself I would pick it up again in a few years, maybe it was just the way it was taught to me. Who knows!

The Life of Pi, I did not like that book at the end. It was disturbing to me. Yet, it was incredibly well written and I can admire the originality of the plotline. I do applaud the author, but I won't read it again.

House by Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti - dumb predictable story, horrible grammar. Not a complete sentence in the book. I did finish it, but I returned it to the bookstore and got my money back. No way those goons are ending up in my library. Pax - C.

Christine by Steven King
Well, pretty much anything written by him I don't like but they are all well written.
OK with the exception of The Long Walk which is an excellent story and well written and it is one of my favorites... but not for everyone. It is thought provoking and morbid and definitely not for everyone.
