Our entire family owns a Japanese car. My mom drives a Toyota Camry, my dad drives a Toyota 4Runner, my sister drives an Infiniti G20, and I drive a Honda Civic. They are all great cars. You just have to decide what size and features you want. One of my close friends drives a Scion TC and I LOVE sitting in her car! It's about the same price as a Civic with better features, and it's made by Toyota so you can't go wrong! The only problem may be is that it's a coupe and it's a more teenager-y car; i don't know how old you are so I don't know what style you're looking for.

I owned a Suzuki Verona when the suzuki place first opened in town. I bought a new 04 back then and it was pretty nice. Since then suzuki has taken off here really big. Verona was supposed to be same or bigger than a camry, but I didn't quite think so. I rented an aerio before I'd ever heard of suzuki and it was more like a small like a geo, but now they have a new reno, forenza and some cool cars if you like rice burners. personally, I traded my verona for a pontiac- just wasn't my type, but it was a decent car- drove it on two long road trips and it held up good.

Don't listen to the assholesabove. Believe me Japanese cars are far superior to american cars.
I suggest the Corolla, Tacoma, Camry, Civic, or Accord.

My family has nothing but toyotas. We have a tacoma, a corolla, a sienna and a camry. All run great with no problems. I have also heard some good things about Honda.

There are lots of good Japanese cars available. I would suggest the following:

Very small cars:
Honda Fit

Small cars:
Honda Civic
Toyota Corolla
Mazda 3

Medium size cars
Honda Accord
Toyota Camry
Mazda 6

Those are all great cars, that I believe you'd be happy with.
