15 is too young to coach a little league team. They need adult guidance. Not saying you don't know your stuff, but young children need grown adults to guide them in the basics of baseball.
You could volunteer to help the coaching staff with throwing batting practice or something.

i am a little league coach, and i brought back my little brother, who at thirteen, is out of our league for the first year this year. he is there to help give advice on how to play the game because the kids on the team who played with him last year look up to him. however, he has absolutely no authority when it comes to anything other than that. he knows that it is my team and what i say goes. i wouldnt even call him a coach, hes just there for the kids to play catch with, or to pitch to the kids sometimes, stuff like that. the rule in my league, is that in order to be an official member of the league, you must be over twenty one. you may think you know how to coach at this age, but i guarantee, two years from now, you will look at the world in a completely different way, and 5 years later, it will change again.

It`s not about knowing your stuff, so much as putting up with all the crap that goes with the job. There`s always problems that 15 year olds might not be equipped to handle such as scheduling, transportation, irate parents, other coaches, umpires, unruly youngsters, uniforms, dinners?, trophies? If you are serious ,tell this man that you would benefit from being an assistant coach for a time. You know the game, you would like to learn the job. I applaud your sense of community, don`t jump in over your head

Coach when your older you are way to young. Not too many chiltren will want to listen to someone who is not too much older.
If you have your heart set on it tell the guy the truth give him every good reason to let you coach. Ask him what does an adult have that a kid can't to except drive. Be polite and if he say's no ask what you nee to do to become a coach. I'd be an umpire if I were you so he can see that you can handle this responsibility.

You just need to show you will be responsible, and be able to handle the kids. That's what's important for little league.
I had a coach when I played little league who was only like 18 or 19, the difference is, you're not old enough to drive yourself the games or practice.

i say go on as an assistant to start. that way it will be a lot easier to convice the manager. after a year or two then move up to a head coach.

The kids won't be the issue. The parents will be. You need an adult to Manage the team. Coaching is done under the guidance of the manager.

15 um no. Most leagues require ADULTS to coach. You could be a an asst. but school is first and foremost. Just because you think you were the best doesn't mean you can coach I would try a helper role first.

Honestly I would ask to be an assistant. Learn the ropes and show what you can do. Then when you turn 18 you will get your chance.

tell him that you realize that little league is supposed to be fun and everyone should play, stress that you want to teach them sportsmanship and how to be a could teammate.
