It's just so irritating for them, and you really cannot take away the pain, other than to ease it up a bit. Old remedies are using something like Numzit which you can buy in the baby section or at any drugstore. It basically works as a topical anesthetic and gives just temporary relief because of the condition of the saliva in the mouth which washes it away shortly after applying. Parents in the 1950's use to rub Rum on their babies gums, but they also did not use seat belts or have their kids wear bike helmets. They survived! There are teething rings that you can put in the freezer or refrigerator and the baby holds it and you hope, places it on the area where the tooth is erupting through. You just have to try several things until you find the one the baby likes and accepts to soothe the situation temporarily. The frozen washcloth is a good one. Wet the washcloth and then put it into the freezer. The only thing is that it is so cold, they sometimes cannot hold if for very long. You should supervise that also, in the event the cloth blocks the airway. You would not want to have the baby do this unsupervised. Sometimes the acidity from the tooth erupting effects some babies digestive tract, and upsets their tummies as well. Stop the crying? The above mentioned distractions will temporarily help the crying situation. Best of luck

With fevers the recommended infant tylenol- I used to use these teething rings that can be frozen, however I would soften them up a bit under warm water before offering them to baby. In a bind -let them chew on your finger(only if your hands are extremely clean)at home is best- too many germs in public.

Baby Tylenol can be given...but it HAS to be administered by an adult. Your mom should call the pediatrician to find the correct dose for your sister's age. My dr told us not to give our son Orajel because it suppresses the swallowing reflex which can lead to choking. A frozen, damp and twisted washcloth to chew on helps some babies. Never put rum or any other type of alcohol in baby's mouth...it is just too risky.

you could attempt toddler paracetamol, yet be certain you examine the labels. the only i take advantage of is each and every 4 hours. this might many times be utilized alongside side a teething gel out of your pharmacist. interior the fast term, attempt sterilising a facecloth and popping it interior the freezer for a jointly as. Bubs will suck on it and it will cool the areas down as nicely. This works nicely with babies that dont like teething jewelry, Rusks help with gum discomfort for the time of the day, yet merely make certain with facecloths & rusks which you watch toddler to make certain there is not any choking, ie. not interior the cot at night. on the top of the day, all babies enamel, and all of us have had some sleepless nights while in basic terms a cuddle from father or mother can help!!

1st off to soothe her gums give her a frozen wash cloth.. it's safer than a normal teether... the liquid in some teethers can be dangerous.. it can also be dangerous b/c if a child pokes a hole in the teether the water comes out quickly which can cause the baby to choke!.. be very careful...
2nd give the baby a vibrataing teether.. this helped my baby gurl alot.. Idk if it actully soothed her or if it jus tickled her gums so much that it made her 4get the pain...
3rd Make sure u keep an eye of the fever! dont let it get to out of control.... If you think it is absolutly nessecary give her Tylenol.. this helps with her fever... but still.. I cant stress enough! Keep an eye on her fever!

We used orajel to help numb the gums you can also use Infants Tylenol or Motrin to help with the fevers but it isn't necessary.
But my son always preferred a cold, wet washcloth to chew on. They have teethers that you can put in the fridge or freezer to make cold, too.
My Mother suggested we use an old school clothes pin, not the one with the spring. My son nawed on the nob at the top of one for months to bring in his teeth.

This is what you tell your parent ------
Get her a baby toothbrush which is for babies who have 4 teeth. They are so soft she will chew on it and like it. Tylenol or calpol for fever should be given depending where you are located. Dosage should be consulted with doctor. Homeopathic medicine - chamomilla 30 should be given 3 pellets, twice or thrice daily. During teething children get stomach problem also and that is what troubles them too. Homeopathic medicine is for teething, colic, diarrhoea, constipation etc. There is one more medicine - calcarea phosph6X which is given 3 tablets twice or thrice a day.
Try to distract her, that will also help. When it use to get worse for my son, I use to take him for a walk outside and that would calm him down and make him tired to sleep.
Best of luck.

I actually answered something similar to this a couple of weeks ago.
It is a COMMON MISCONCEPTION THAT TEETHING HURTS. It actually DOES NOT, IT ITCHES.
Get a couple of bucks together and go get the baby a toothbrush, when she starts chewing on it, the bristles feel REALLY good and She WILL calm down. I promise!
As to the fevers, give tylenol (every 4 hours) or motrin (every 6 hours)

Get her teething gel you can buy at Walmart or Zeller or Shopper Drug Mart. That will freeze her teeth so it won't be painful that much. Give her Tylenol for pain after every 4-5hours or talk to her doctor about it.
