ive tried theres not really a good site, so i went to Borders bookstore and bought some books on music now i think ive got every song ive ever wanted

Your best bet would be to try allmusic.com. Their database is incredible. It's not to download music, but to provide informational insight. Before anyone else tells you it's not a good site, please try it out for yourself. Hope this helps. :)
