To me it means, the effort a person puts into his being, to acquire to his fullest potential throughout his life.

Your actions and choices in general form who you are.

There is no intrinsic "Marjorie". By choosing to do my homework, look on the positive side, and sleep too much, I have defined myself by those traits.

It's kind of like that Batman Begins tagline: "It's not who I am. It's what I do that defines me".

The phrase also implies a sort of tabula rasa idea... a person is not born with any kind of fixed personality... it is developed through their choices (as opposed to outside influence)

You, your personality, what you call yourself is not "finished" or "done". In fact, as you grow older, it never be finished, (until you die). It continuously evolve and develop, taking experience of your choices of path and the decisions for your actions.

it means you are in control of ur life u are what u make urself. through ur actions and the way u view life as it is u become more ur own person ur distinct personality

to me it means---we are not predetermined to be a certain person (either by fate or genetics). We become who we are by the choices we make and things we choose to do, and because we continue to make choices throughout our lives, we can and do change who we are.

what you choose to do affect not only others , but also yourself. Think about anything that you do in your life you will find that you are affected more than others did. Even if it has nothing to do with you , if you chooses to hate someone and you did not forgave him he is not hurt as you are.
