I mean even better than Phil Jackson. Phil was lucky to have guys like Jordan, Shaq and Kobe play for him. Sloan had Malone and Stockton...and now recently, not anyone of huge note. Yet here they are heading into the playoffs as a high seed. In fact, except for one year, they've maintained competitiveness without having to really "rebuild" Is this a testament to Sloan's great coaching?

Not rebuilding because rebuildling means they were horrible for a period of time. The Jazz have never been horrible. They seemed to have reloaded because they always maintain a competitive team (except one year).

what do you mean they haven't rebuilt?

they signed Boozer a few years ago and he's finally healthy, they drafted Williams before last season and he's coming into his own.

Boozer being healthy and playing at his current level is the biggest reason they're where they are as well as Williams developing as a player in his sophomore season

and the Jazz signed Okur a few seasons ago and he's developed into their 3rd best player and was an all star.

Their top 3 players where added in the last few seasons, you don't call that rebuilding?

The only guy who's been on their team all these years worth mentioning is Andrei and he's fallen back so much they're winning dispite him.

Add 3 all star quality players like Williams, Boozer, and Okur to any team in the league and they'll make the playoffs

there are a number of NBA cities that maximum men might extremely no longer play in. Salt Lake city. San Antonio. Milwaukee. Charlotte. Oklahoma city. it incredibly is different from Sloan is on my own in that regard. skills? He had Malone and Stockton, 2 of the genuine 50 gamers interior the history of the NBA. Coached them for 17 years, from 1986 to 2003. 2 Finals appearances. No rings. The Jazz could no longer artwork a commerce or convince some high quality loose agent to connect them and positioned them over the genuine in all those years? Sloan is a exceptionally good coach. he's a few distance from the final coach.

Let me answer your question with another question, how many championship rings does he have? Can you name a great coach who won a championship without an all-star player to help him? I can't. Phil had Jordan, Shaq, Kobe. Pat had Magic, Kareem, Shaq, and Wade. Popovich had the General and Duncan. Rudy had the Dream. Brown had Iverson. Coaches need all stars just as much as all stars need coaches. Jerry Sloan is a good coach but not the best.

This seems like a ridiculous question to me. Even if Phil Jackson had God himself on his championship teams, 9 to 0 is too big a deficit to ignore. I think Sloan is just good enough to not get fired.

Phil Jackson is the greatest coach of the modern era because last time i checked it was all about the rings and Phil has 9 & jerry has 0. (6 with the bulls &3 with the lakers.) jerry now has some premire talent as well with andre kirilinko & carlos boozer.
